| Lance-Larkin Lance-Larkin’s goal is the result of many conversations between two friends, Lance and Bill, who first met while vacationing on the shores of Lake Chelan in Washington State. During the summer and on college breaks they’d meet up, work on and talk about Lance’s latest inventions. Lance was a railroad engineer turned inventor. He invented the baseball bat carousel, later modified to display pool cues and fishing poles and the machine that makes the slotted walls for retail displays. Over the years, it got Bill to thinking about what he could invent. It came to him one morning. Making the day’s first cup of coffee, he spilled water all over the place, which is very frustrating at 5:30am in the morning. After much thought and a few wet towels he asked himself, “What could make life easier and better?” The solution came to him. Since Lance was a proven inventor, Bill told him about idea for making the first truly built-in the wall coffee system. In response, Lance gave him an enthusiastic two thumbs up, a lot of encouragement and planned to work on the Brew Express full-time with Bill to bring this revolutionary product to the market. Lance passed on before the concept of the Brew Express became reality. The company’s name honors Lance’s life and contribution by combining his first name and Bill’s middle name into Lance-Larkin.
